Joel Hartig was a bit directionless with his life until 2008, waiting for something or someone to wake him up. When he heard Barack Obama's Super Tuesday speech, especially how "we are the ones we've been waiting for, we are the change that we seek," Joel found his calling, and after first working as a volunteer in Rhode Island, eventually became the Voter File Manager for Obama's general election campaign in Wisconsin. After 2008, he joined the DNC to become a Regional Data Services Director in Washington DC, and worked there until early 2011. He then moved to New York City, where he is currently a political data consultant. Joel enjoys mobilizing grassroots action through data. He is also getting married this year, which is why he may look happier than usual.
