Carlos is Director of Special Projects, where he’s leading an effort to open the floodgates of local office to activists and new leaders. Previously, he served in the White House Office of Political Affairs, acting as a liaison for Latino leaders, an adviser on political issues in the southern and western regions, and an outreach lead on issues from immigration reform to the relief and reconstruction of Haiti. Earlier, he served as Deputy Latino Vote Director for the Obama campaign, helping craft and implement a strategy that brought two million new people into the electoral process. Before joining Obama for America, he managed communications for AlleyCorp, a group of New York-based Internet start-ups that includes Business Insider and Gilt Groupe, and GALA, an arts non-profit in DC. Carlos is originally from Miami.
