Managing Director

Job Description

The Managing Director will coordinate and support the work of the following NOIEF and NOI Department Directors: Candidate's Project, Data, Technology and Research, Community, New Media, Operations, and Organizing.  The Managing Director will work closely with the Executive Director and 6 Department Directors to establish a budget, clear goals and timeline, and all aspects of organizational management.

This position will report to NOIEF and NOI's Executive Director.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an annual goal setting and budgeting process to ensure organizational progress towards meeting goals. Will also oversee and review quarterly and annual budget reports.
  • Plan and execute staff-wide initiatives, meetings and staff development and bi-yearly reviews
  • Implement strategic decisions made by Department Directors in a timely manner
  • Be a catalyst for open communication and lead coordination (through problem solving, compromise, and group decision making) across departments
  • Serve as the point of contact with NOIEF and NOI's legal counsel to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, particularly with issues of intellectual property and contract negotiations.
  • In coordination with the Executive Director manage key external relationships with Board Members and key stakeholders.
  • Lead the recruitment process of hiring senior coordinating team members and support department directors in the hiring of new staff.
  • Work with the Executive Director and Department Directors to facilitate timely decision making with regard to hiring, firing, and resource allocation.
  • Provide strong day-to-day leadership to make key operational decisions on a daily basis

Qualifications

The Managing Director is a new position and was created to promote expansion, build organizational capacity, inspire innovation, and ensure NOIEF and NOI remain solvent.   • Successful experience in simultaneous administration of financial management, budgeting, and planning of diverse departments and responsibilities

  • A bachelor's degree is required; however a master's degree in business management or human resources is strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years of managerial or human resources non-profit management experience within a mid-to-large scale organization
  • Expert level use of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and Salesforce. Must also have an eagerness to learn to use new tools and technology.

The salary for the Managing Director position is commensurate with experience.  Position includes healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) and cell phone reimbursement.
