What were you watching?

What were you watching?

Off-year elections don't usually get a lot of national attention. But last night, progressives around the country were glued to results coming in from the 11 states where votes were cast. In many cases, we saw the votes as litmus tests for 2012, or chances to stand up and reject the assault on our rights and our families.

From Mississippi to Maine, Ohio to Arizona, from statewide referenda to small-town city councils, we saw impressive, and sometimes unexpected, progressive victories.

We have a lot of work left to do, but the 2011 elections showed that when we organize, we can win.

What race had you hitting the refresh button and counting precinct totals? What organizing did you see that gives you hope for our movement? What results stunned you the most? Share your election night stories, and hold up the examples of great organizing you saw in 2011.
