NY Marriage Equality De-Brief

NY Marriage Equality De-Brief

I'm excited to announce that Empire State Pride Agenda, Freedom to Marry, Human Rights Campaign, Log Cabin Republicans, Marriage Equality New York, SEIU 1199, Gill Action Fund, League of Women Voters of New York State, and the New Organizing Institute are hosting the New York Marriage Organizing De-Brief, an event to share lessons learned during the successful campaign to win marriage equality here in New York.

When Governor Cuomo signed marriage equality into law in New York State, pundits across the country offered their spin on how this historic victory was achieved.

But wouldn't you rather hear about the strategy and organizing from the people who fought on the front lines? Yeah, we would too. That's why we partnered with many of the key players to bring you the New York Marriage Organizing De-Brief. To ensure that organizers everywhere can learn from this powerful campaign, we're live-streaming the discussion.

The event takes place Thursday, October 6, 6:00-9:00 PM EDT, and we're live streaming the opening panel from 6:00-7:45 PM EDT.

RSVP to join us live in New York City (details below).

RSVP for the Live-Stream of the opening panel, from 6:00-7:45 PM EDT.

It took an uncommon coalition, a coordinated strategy, a fierce campaign on the ground, and much, much more to win marriage equality in New York. This is your chance to hear about the challenges, mistakes, and successes that organizers faced, from the organizers themselves.

We're looking forward to sharing our challenges and successes over the course of the campaign, and answering your questions, with the hope that you can apply it to your present and future work! We'll hold sessions on how the coalition formed and worked together, our ground game in the field, how we won the daily news cycle, and our innovative online organizing.

Of course, if you're in the NYC area, we invite you to join us in person.
