This year, we've seen unprecedented action to limit voting rights. Laws from Wisconsin's voter ID requirement to Florida's new restrictions on voter registration are making it harder to mobilize voters and win campaigns.
Last year, we launched the Organizer's Guide to Election Administration (OGEA), a 50-state guide to election law for organizers. Now we've updated it to help you navigate changes to voting laws. We've added new topics, like last minute registration and how to access the voter file in your state. But we're also hoping you'll contibute. Your local knowledge can help other organizers on the ground. Will you share it? Check out the updates, and share your knowledge about your state! Now, it's more important than ever that we work together to share vital information and help one another stay informed. That's why we added the new comments feature: to help make information sharing possible. But we need your help to make it powerful. The information you've built up about the local players and how laws are interpreted will add a whole new level to the site, and help other organizers save time and make sound decisions. To share your knowledge, just go to the page for your state, scroll down to the bottom, and add your experience in the comments. You can also pose questions to other local organizers and start a conversation in your area, all in the comments thread for your state. Election law is an ever-shifting landscape. We're updating the OGEA constantly to help you save time and headaches, but we need your help to give texture to the local landscape. Your knowledge of local rules and players can make a huge difference. Find out about election law in your state, and help other organizers by sharing your knowledge on your state's comment thread! And of course, we hope you'll use the OGEA as a resource, whether or not you have something to share. Organizers have more important ways to spend time than trying to interpret or track down voting laws. Keep voting, and helping others vote
